Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account on Playdates (playdates.app), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. Who can use Playdates

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement. Playdates is a tennis matchmaking platform intended for recreational players.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@playdates.app if you suspect unauthorized access.

You agree to provide accurate information in your profile, including your skill level. Misrepresenting your skill level to gain advantage in matchmaking is a violation of these terms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Impersonate another person or provide false profile information.
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users through the platform's messaging or match features.
• Use the platform for any purpose other than finding and organizing tennis matches.
• Attempt to circumvent any security, rate-limiting, or access-control features.
• Use automated tools to interact with the platform without our permission.

5. Match commitments

When you confirm a match, you are committing to attend. Repeated no-shows or last-minute cancellations are disruptive to the community. We reserve the right to limit access for users who consistently fail to honor confirmed matches.

6. Content you provide

You retain ownership of any content you provide (profile photo, messages, playzone reviews). By uploading content, you grant Playdates a limited, non-exclusive licence to display that content to other users as part of operating the platform. You must not upload content that is unlawful, offensive, or infringes on third-party rights.

7. Disclaimer of liability

Playdates connects players with each other but is not responsible for what happens during matches. Playing tennis carries inherent physical risk. By using the platform, you acknowledge that you participate in matches at your own risk and that Playdates is not liable for injuries, property damage, or other losses arising from matches arranged through the platform.

The platform is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee that the matchmaking service will always find you an opponent, that matches will always be confirmed, or that the platform will be available without interruption.

8. Account termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You can close your account at any time by contacting support@playdates.app.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Playdates after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notification.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
